Valko-Venäjän jääkiekkomaajoukkueen päävalmentajalla Mihail Zakharovilla on Vancouverissa käytössään neljä NHL-pelaajaa, joista nimekkäin on Toronto Maple Leafsin taitava hyökkääjä Mikhail Grabovsky. Vancouverissa Valko-Venäjä pelaa C-lohkossa ja kohtaa avausottelussaan Suomen keskiviikkona 17. helmikuuta Muut Valko-Venäjän alkulohkovastustajat ovat Ruotsi ja Saksa. Ruotsi pääsee hakemaan revanssia Valko-Venäjän Salt Lake Cityssa järjestämästä nöyryytyksestä perjantaina 19. helmikuuta.
