Vancouver Canucksin kotiareena tunnetaan yleensä nimellä General Motors Place, mutta kisojen aikana halli kantaa nimeä Canada Hockey Place. Vuonna 1995 avattu jääkiekkopyhättö nielaisee 19 300 katsojaa eli lähes kuusi tuhatta henkeä enemmän kuin Helsingin Hartwall-areena.
General Motors Place, kisojen aikana siis Canada Hockey Place, isännöi NBA-seura Vancouver Grizzliesin matseja vuosina 1995-2001. Kaudeksi 2001-02 Grizzlies muutti Yhdysvaltain puolelle Memphisiin. 160 miljoonaa Kanadan dollaria eli noin 107 miljoonaa euroa maksaneessa hallissa on järjestetty myös lukuisia huippukonsertteja.
Olympialaisten aikana areenalla pelataan lähinnä miesten turnauksen kiekko-otteluita. Lisäksi Kanadan naisten avausottelu ja naisten turnauksen ratkaisuottelut kiekkoillaan Canada Hockey Placessa.
